Internship: Crown Equipment Corporation

Crown Equipment Corporation is the world’s fifth largest manufacturer of lift trucks in the world. They are located in New Bremen, OH. I had the pleasure of working for Crown in a Media Production Internship in the summer of 2018. One of my larger projects was working on an animated warehouse design, featured here, using SketchUp and Cinema 4D. I also used other tools including Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, and worked on many videos using Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere.

Animated Warehouse Prototype

This animated warehouse design was an R&D prototype providing the first-ever work of this kind using new design tools for Crown. I designed a warehouse in SketchUp using scaled measurements and other elements, in Cinema 4D. After I had the warehouse created, I imported it into Cinema 4D. I used Cinema 4D to animate the warehouse, to create the trees, and to add different textures and colors. This prototype was vetted with the leadership team to show the depth and breadth of new design tools.

Creating Medical Videos

To alleviate employee back stress and stress on their arms and hands, Crown decided to create a series of stretching and medical videos to help employees stay healthy and to help them relieve these areas of stress in their everyday work environments. This was one example of a medical video that I created.

Working on Animated Videos

This animated environmental video for Crown Equipment Corporation, was a team project. My contribution included using Adobe Illustrator and animating elements created in Illustrator using Adobe After Effects. I utilized a storyboard to ensure the final product was targeted correctly in its intent and for the users we intended to reach with this piece. I really enjoyed creating these design elements and animating them in an engaging way to tell a story.
